Chiropractic Sciatica Treatment in Jackson Township, NJ

Hi. Dr. Kinney here, your chiropractor for sciatica in Jackson Township, NJ.

Today I want to just show you the most important way that we adjust patients who have sciatica.

So sciatica is when the nerves that exit out of the lower back spine here bring together a big fat nerve that goes all the way down the leg.

Patients with sciatica are going to feel either back pain, butt pain, but mostly they feel your buttock, hip, groin, or pain that shoots all the way down into their leg.

So the one technique that we do is called flexion distraction.

This helps to decompress the joints, decompressing the discs, helping to take the pressure off of the source of the sciatic nerve, which are the bottom couple joints in the lumbar spine.

So my patient Sue is lying face down, this is called flexion distraction.

This is a decompression technique that we do and helps open up the joint spaces, open up the disc spaces, creating more room, more space for nerve supply.

So when you have the nerves that are compressed or swollen or inflamed, we give them more room to heal.

This also is going to help with alignment of the pelvis.

This is going to help with leveling out Sue’s leg length so that if she has maybe one leg longer or shorter than the other, this is going to help with making sure that there’s not any kind of a discrepancy also.

It’s easy. It’s non invasive. Drug-free way for your body to start to heal and feel better with chiropractic care.

So flexion distraction is a very easy way that we help to maximize function and get rid of sciatica.

Thank you so much for tuning in. We’ll see you soon.
