Bionutritional Care/ Hope For Autism

Dr. Jodi Kinney has always been passionate about Childrens' Health.  Since she discovered Hope For Autism and how Bionutritional Care has been changing the lives of hundreds if not thousands of children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), she has a renewed passion to help as many people as possible in the central Jersey area.  Hope For Autism is an organization created by Defeat Autism Now (DAN) doctor, Dr. Renee Tocco, and aims to certify doctors in treating people with ASD using non-invasive, holistic means.   Certifications are held periodically to teach doctors, specifically chiropractors how to combine neurology, chiropractic, lab diagnosis, and nutrition to help improve even reverse symptoms of autism.  Many Hope For Autism doctors have even had children on the autism spectrum recover.
Bionutritional Care:  After a thorough initial history and examination, Dr. Jodi will make recommendations for specific lab tests to determine the underlying physiological cause of symptoms your child may be suffering.  These underlying physiological conditions include, but are not limited to, chronic fungal, bacterial, viral or parasitic infection, nutritional deficiency, food and inhalant allergies, heavy metal toxicity, systemic inflammation, and immune system deficiencies.  Then focus will be on natural, non-invasive treatments, recommendations for supplements, dietary recommendations, and chiropractic care to help change your child's behavior for the better.
BioNutritional Care has been shown effective for treating Autism Spectrum Disorders, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Allergies, Digestive Disorders, Alzheimer's Disease, Tourette's Syndrome, Lyme Disease, Depression, Multiple Sclerosis, Psoriasis, Eczema, Seizure Disorder, Autoimmune Disorders, Joint and Muscle Pain and more.
The Workup:   The initial history and exam is the most detailed and time consuming portion of the work up, and can range from 1 ½ to 2 hours in duration.  THE PATIENT WILL NEED TO COMPLETE AND RETURN ALL PAPERWORK 3 DAYS PRIOR TO THE FIRST VISIT.   (Please call for paperwork, 732-833-9000).  After the initial exam, the patient (or parent of the patient) will be sent home with information on lab tests and collection, dietary recommendations, supplement information and a recovery journal with a plethora of information as well as an area to track results.   Chiropractic care will most likely be recommended.  If we go ahead with the lab tests, they will be sent directly to the patient's home for collection.   The lab that Intrinsic Chiropractic Center works with is The Great Plains Laboratory (www.greatplainslaboratory.com) , and has been extremely successful in helping children on the autism spectrum utilizing specific laboratory analysis.  Once the lab results have been generated by Great Plains, they will return the results back to Dr. Jodi Kinney.  Once received, the patient and family will return to the office for the results, and further recommendations will be given to the patient.  The length of the follow up visit is dependent upon what is revealed in the lab tests, but can range anywhere from ½ hour to an hour.   Most of our patients purchase the supplements on their own through New Beginnings Nutritionals (www. nbnus.com), as it is more cost efficient.  New Beginnings also works very closely with The Great Plains laboratory to formulate the most effective supplements that children on the autism spectrum need, or the specific supplements necessary for your condition.

Fees:  Please call the office to discuss fees (732-833-9000).  Most Health insurances in NJ do not cover Bionutritional Care.  Fees DO NOT include the cost of laboratory testing or supplements.    However, Great Plains Laboratory is in network with many insurance companies and will cover this service for most, but not all.  You will have to verify insurance benefits, and submit insurance information with your specimen upon collection.   Intrinsic Chiropractic can help if you have any questions.   Most insurances will cover chiropractic care as well, but again verification of benefits will be necessary.  Please call for more information.

Disclaimer:  Families who have a child on the Autism Spectrum have experienced an enormous amount of stress in their lives.  Trying to discover the right pathway of care for your child can be a tremendous challenge.  Dr. Jodi Kinney truly believes in this method of treatment for ASD children, but it should be noted that this process is not always easy.  Some of the dietary recommendations can be very restrictive and supplementation can seem overwhelming.  It is imperative to follow the treatment recommendations or outcomes may not positive.  Dr. Jodi will only accept patients who are completely committed to treatment guidelines so we may get the very best outcomes possible.
